At the request of healthcare professionals, IVUS, in collaboration with physicians and nurses, has developed a sterile urine sampling kit for the collection of urine specimens for further testing. The objective was to reduce the risk of false test results while making the sampling process easier and more hygienic for both patients and healthcare personnel.

The closed vacuum system ensures that the urine remains sterile from collection to analysis. With the IVUS urine sampling kit, there is no need to transfer urine manually from a collection cup to a sample tube, thereby minimizing the risk of contamination and sample spillage during the process. This provides a more hygienic workflow and helps reduce the occurrence of false test results.

Specifications

• 1 × 120 ml sterile urine collection cup made of polypropylene (PP) with an integrated transfer device and attached HDPE screw cap, individually packed
• 1 × 9 ml vacuum tube with U-bottom (Vacutest Urine Tube), individually packed

Instructions for Use

1. Unscrew the lid from the urine collection cup. Avoid touching the underside of the lid or the inside of the cup.
2. Allow a small amount of urine to pass into the toilet before collecting the urine sample in the cup.
3. Securely close the lid on the urine collection cup.
4. Open the transfer port by partially peeling back the label on the top of the cup.
5. Do not remove the cap from the vacuum tube. Instead, press the tube onto the needle located in the opening of the urine cup lid. The tube will fill automatically.
6. Fill the cup to approximately 2 cm below the rim.
7. Remove the urine tube from the cup and reseal the label.
8. Submit the sample for testing.
